1. Average Miles
At Bison we offer our Drivers consistent miles. On average, a full-time assigned Driver will run approximately 12,000 miles each month in a Canada/U.S. long haul position, and 22,000 miles per month for a team.
2. Work with a dedicated customs team
The customs team assists with readying paperwork to make cross-border commutes worry-free. The team prepares everything for drivers so they can focus on getting to the destination safely and on time. The customs and operations teams work hard at supporting drivers through every step of the process.
3. Pre-trip planning
Bison’s dispatch team is available 24-7. That means assistance is always in reach anywhere, any time. Bison makes available resources to ensure drivers get from point A to point B as efficiently as possible. Pre-trip planning means there is little to no wait time for the next plan and, as such, drivers keep moving.
The average age of a Bison tractor is 2 years, and a trailer is 3 years. This is well below industry standard and gives Bison Drivers the opportunity to work with new equipment and the latest technologies. This reduces downtime which ultimately increases job satisfaction, and most importantly, your miles.
5. Head south so your pay goes north!
Cross-border work has always been one of the most lucrative types of work for professional truck drivers and we are excited to announce that we have increased our premiums on all U.S. miles! Compared to a Canada-only driver working similar miles and type of work, running cross-border lanes can increase a driver’s pay by approximately $10,000 per year.
